HOW THE IDEA OF AI-CONIC COFFEE CAME TOGETHER?
Antti has been a longtime customer at Kaffa Roastery. One day Antti and Kaffa team had the idea to join their forces to create an innovative beverage - a coffee blend created by the help of AI.
Kaffa Roastery had data on each of their existing coffees . They gave this written data for AI-team at Elev, led by Aleksi Paavola, who then started working with AI.
Elev team used modern AI, Large Language Models to determine the best coffee blend. After AI did its part, Kaffa’s coffee experts did theirs. First test roasting was successful and during the blind tasting they realized that the perfect blend was there. Mike Akins is the roaster behind AI-conic, Kaffa team included Anemone Aaltonen, Iita Stenberg and Svante Hampf.
From Elev team participated Antti Merilehto, Aleksi Paavola and Mimi Matinpalo.
Then it came to the name and after a little ideation and sparring with AI, the very basic ChatGPT 3,5, there it was - AI-conic Coffee. The bright visuals have been also created with the help of AI, made by AI-artist Sani Leino.

Kaffa Roastery has been roasting fresh and tasty coffee for Finns since 2007. It all started when Svante and his friends had a mind-blowing idea. We in Finland drink the most coffee in the world. Could we also drink the best coffee in the world?
We believe the answer to this is yes, and our job is to prove it. The first roaster was a popcorn machine. The friends did wild experiments that even the most experienced coffee experts wouldn't do. Some wild experiments were made and the roastery was almost burnt. Lessons were learnt.
The best coffee in the world is the sum of many factors. Kaffa Roastery's coffees are roasted and packaged by hand in Helsinki Merikortteli. The customer always gets our coffee freshly roasted.

In order to guarantee the quality and ethics of the coffee, we buy coffee beans directly from coffee farms as much as possible, avoiding unnecessary middlemen. We guarantee the quality of the coffee and the development of our coffee products by constantly testing and experimenting with different ideas.
